Hoxworth Blood Center (HBC) was founded in 1938 and serves more than 30 hospitals in 18 counties in Southwestern Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Southeastern Indiana. Annually, HBC collects more than 100,000 units of blood from local donors to help save the lives of patients in area hospitals. HBC is located within the University of Cincinnati (UC), College of Medicine (COM). UC COM has a reputation for training best-in-class health care professionals and developing cutting-edge procedures and research that improves the health and clinical care of patients. In partnership with the UC Health academic healthcare system and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, UC COM's faculty and staff are transforming the world of medicine every day.
Hoxworth Blood Center, University of Cincinnati, seeking a full-time Director of Cellular Therapies to provide oversight of clinical, administrative, and resource management of the Cellular Therapies department to support local HEME/ONC BMT programs and direct, coordinate, develop, and continually improve operations. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Hoxworth Blood Center Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).Bachelor's Degree.
Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
Eight Plus (8+) years of experience in clinical processing of cellular products. Experience must also include a minimum of three (3) years of experience in a supervisory role.

As a UC employee, and an employee of an Ohio public institution, if hired you will not contribute to the federal Social Security system, other than contributions to Medicare. Instead, UC employees have the option to contribute to a state retirement plan (OPERS, STRS) or an alternative retirement plan (ARP).
