Location: Libertyville, IL (On-site)

Job Overview

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join a growing public accounting firm with a long-standing reputation for excellence in Lake County, Illinois. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of accounting, tax, and audit responsibilities while being part of a supportive and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and plan individual and corporate income taxes.
  • Prepare compiled and reviewed financial statements.
  • Provide payroll tax return and sales tax return preparation services.
  • Perform bookkeeping services and support audits as needed.
  • Collaborate with clients to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in public accounting.
  • Certification: CPA designation or actively working towards it.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with accounting software such as Lacerte , Ultra Tax , Accounting CS , and QuickBooks .
  • Strong technical understanding of tax and financial statement preparation.
