Traffic Manager

San Antonio, TX

The client is seeking an experienced Traffic Manager to join our growing organization who is motivated, a self-starter, strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and commitment to operational excellence.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the inbound and outbound logistics/transportation to distributors and from vendors. Provides internal and/or external resources necessary to meet delivery needs of the Distribution Centers.
Plans and directs the utilization of cost-effective means of transportation to optimize/maximize income opportunities, cost control opportunities and generate revenue.
Oversee and manage Trade Compliance requirements.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

Provide strategic plan to optimize freight, logistics and inventory throughout the supply chain using inbound and outbound TL / LTL, expedited, air, package, international and forwarding services.
Manage 3PL service providers to optimize freight and systems.
Analyze freight and logistics cost and benefits; provide cost effective recommendations to support division strategy.
Lead all aspects of evaluation, selection and negotiations of freight and logistics suppliers.
Develop and implement carrier performance reviews.
Work with purchasing relative to freight and logistics.
Establish, document, and simplify freight and logistics related. Ensure organization acts in accordance with defined systems and procedures.
Review and approve freight spend activity through regular review and analysis of detail from 3PL provider.
Month end analysis and reporting of activity.
Review and approve all invoices for transportation services.
Manage 3PL relationships ensuring operating parameters and business rules are aligned with Bestop vision and shipments comply with state and federal standards.
Provide support for shipments with customs documentation needs.
Concentration on global customs regulation frameworks such as harmonized tariff schedules, customs valuations, import VAT rules, and various other matters
Work with internal and external customers / vendors, OEM's, freight forwarders / customs brokers, government agencies and other functional areas to support compliance.
Assist in the implementation and management of the Transportation Management System (TMS)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED):

Minimum 5 years transportation and logistics experience.
Significant work experience as a traffic manager, logistics manager, or another supply chain similar role.
Excellent verbal and communication skills
PC knowledge, Word and Excel experience desirable.
Trade compliance and tariff classification knowledge
Strong data-entry skills and attention to detail, good math skills
Able to prioritize work, delegate, and meet deadlines
Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus

MUST HAVE

5 years transportation and logistics experience.
Experience as a traffic manager, logistics manager, or another supply chain similar role.
Trade compliance and tariff classification knowledge.
Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus.

2. Do you have experience as a traffic manager, logistics manager, or another supply chain similar role.

3. Do you have Trade compliance and tariff classification knowledge

4. Do you have - Hiring manager will not consider anyone who does not have at least 4-years longevity in their most recent role.

5. Do you have experience with LTL and Drop Ships.

6. Do you have Tariff knowledge is essential as they will be handling freight and other international shipments between US/Mexico and Mexico/China.

7. Are you Bilingual - English/Spanish a plus. Their manufacturing facility is in Mexico, and they'll be regularly managing both imports from Mexico to the US and materials from China to Mexico.

8. Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder.
