Summer External Student Worker, Process Analytics-TR&D - considering undergrad and grad students
The Novartis Technical Research & Development Department (TR&D) drives the advancement of adeno-associated virus (AAV) and lentiviral vector (LVV) production platforms across multiple manufacturing and development sites. TR&D Process analytics (PA) team is integral in the development, scale-up, transfer, optimization and characterization of processes for the clinical and commercial manufacturing of both new and licensed Novartis gene therapy products. The Process Analytics Summer Help will support a to be determined project that will advance therapeutic product development. The PA Summer Help will operate under the direct supervision of another scientist within the team.
Responsibilities:
• Work with a more senior scientist to develop and design experiments.
• Perform and execute experiments as well as analyze acquired data under mentorship.
• Present and communicate data and findings at group and department meetings.
• Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Maintain good documentation practices and accurate records of experiments.
Requirements:
• Currently enrolled in a degree program in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, bioengineering, biomedical science or a related field.
• Minimum GPA 3.0
• Experience with various analytical techniques such ddPCR, qPCR, HPLC, ELISAs is preferred.
• Passion in working at the lab bench.
• Desire to work in a fast-paced and team-orientated environment.
• Excellent written, verbal, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Superb attention to detail and an interest in scientific discovery and technology innovation.
The level of this position will be based on the final candidate’s qualifications.

Pay Rate: $22 - $34 depending on education level
