Senior Accountant / Bookkeeper

Location: Hybrid – Lakewood Ranch, FL (MUST BE ABLE TO COMMUTE TO LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL!)

About the Company

A dynamic midsize company in Lakewood Ranch is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant / Bookkeeper to manage core financial functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Profit & Loss (P/L) statements. This is a hybrid role, offering a blend of remote and in-office work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.
• Prepare, analyze, and maintain Profit & Loss (P/L) statements, balance sheets, and other financial reports.
• Oversee bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.
• Utilize QuickBooks to record and manage financial transactions efficiently.
• Work closely with leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Collaborate with external auditors and tax professionals as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

• 3+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in a midsize business environment.
• Strong proficiency in QuickBooks (Online and/or Desktop).
• Solid understanding of AP, AR, and financial reporting.
• Experience preparing Profit & Loss (P/L) statements and managing general ledger entries.
• Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid work environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software is a plus.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
