Safety Engineer
This is a unique opportunity for a motivated, knowledgeable, and outgoing individual to join our company as a Safety Engineer where you will have the support and commitment of the Executive Team, be a part of a growing safety department, and work closely with our talented HVAC construction, service and manufacturing teams. As a contributing member of company, your main focus will be to support the health and safety of our workers by establishing relationships, effectively communicating with all levels of our company, examining existing work practices and processes, and by impacting and influencing positive health and safety continuous improvements through coaching, teaching, and seeking improved methods and procedures. You will also have extensive opportunities to grow your knowledge through in house mentoring and training as well as additional training outside of our company. Our ideal candidate has at least a bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a relevant field and a year of industry experience, but these are not required to be considered. However, you must be able to demonstrate knowledge of regulatory requirements related to our lines of business, be willing to work to grow as a Safety Professional, be committed to supporting our overall growth, and most importantly have excellent communication and leadership skills.
Safety Engineer Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop a high-level understanding of industry workplace processes and equipment to best impact opportunities for improvement and the elimination of unsafe conditions.
* Develop detailed safe work plans for tasks being performed in construction, service, and manufacturing.
* Educate all levels of our company, including leadership, on best practices, safe work procedures, and proper equipment usage.
* Inspect construction projects, service projects, and manufacturing facilities, identifying potentially unsafe conditions and working with each of those groups to make corrections and more importantly, to continuously improve health, safety, and efficient production.
* Provide detailed reports, documenting positive observations, opportunities for improvement, and any implemented corrections or process improvements.
* Stay informed regarding current safety regulatory requirements and any future changes.
Safety Engineer Requirements and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in occupational safety or a relevant field (Preferred).
* 2-5 years of experience in related industry, particularly in a safety engineering role.
* Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
* OSHA 30-hour or similar certification.
* Knowledge of industry-specific safety standards and best practices.
* Computer skills, spreadsheets, word documents, and power point programs at a minimum.
