Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced La Brisa - Bartender to join our team at Miccosukee Casino & Resort. Qualifications

  • Must be able to communicate in English, Spanish is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Tribal Gaming License
  • Must be able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, ever-changing environment.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Excellent guest service skills, as well as excellent communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills -Outgoing personality.
  • Basic computer knowledge (Micros or other POS Systems).
  • Must have cashiering experience.
  • Certification as a mixologist from a reputable bartending school preferred
  • Previous bartender experience (2 years minimum)
  • Must be of minimum age to serve alcohol according to state law.
  • Food handling certificate is an asset.
  • Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Must be able to frequently move freely about the property, withstand various activities such as frequent walking, and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction
  • Must be able to work different shifts, which may include holidays and weekends
  • Be able to work indoors and be exposed to various environmental contaminants including smoke
  • Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted in the performance of specific tasks assigned
  • Must be able to work with others, communicate well, receive direction, and provide feedback when needed to achieve department goals and objectives
  • Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with guests in a congenial and polite manner
  • Must be able to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness
  • Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods

Responsibilities

  • The primary responsibility of the Bartender is to interacting with customers by taking their orders, making recommendations, providing them with accurate bills.

To maintain stock of liquor and bar supplies, and to collect money and account for all drinks served. Be able to take food orders and serve in appropriate fashion. Polished communication skills, a pleasant disposition and be able to work as a contributing member of the team.

  • Adhere to the Miccosukee Service Expectations and ensure team compliance
  • Ensures the proper and adequate set-up of bars.
  • Bid guests farewell by using guest's name when known, and inviting them to come back.
  • Greet guests in a friendly, positive manner and make them feel at home
  • Stocks beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments, glassware, ice and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet.
  • Maintains stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables to ensure product quality.
  • Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control.
  • Checks guests for proper identification, manages method of payment, and serves alcohol according to State, Federal and corporate liquor regulations.
  • Takes orders from serving staff or directly from customers and records orders accurately into register system.
  • Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes.
  • Inform guests about the hotel's facilities, policies and procedures.
  • Station set-up and breakdown as well as all side-work and cleaning duties
  • Close checks for servers and balance tip sheet.
  • Members are expected to conduct and carry themselves in a professional manner at all times and to observe the Company's standards, work requirements and rules of conduct.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

The Casino & Resort will function seven days a week, 24 hours a day. We may find it necessary to re-schedule shifts according to our business volume. You must be willing and available to fulfill these demands

While performing the duties of this job, the team member will be regularly required to walk, stand and sit. The associate will occasionally be required to climb and use balance. Additionally, the team member will frequently be asked to use hands and arms carry and lift items. Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include close vision and distance vision. While performing the duties of this job, the team member may experience temperature fluctuations and moderate to high levels of noise. This is a smoking environment.
