Adelphi is seeking a compassionate Registered Nurse to provide health services, promote health education, and maintain a safe, inclusive environment for students at a public school district in Fayette County, Kentucky. The Nurse will provide comprehensive special education health services, promote health education, and maintain a safe environment. The ideal candidates must collaborate effectively with school staff, parents, and healthcare providers to ensure the well-being of students.

Requirements:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Valid Kentucky RN license.
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience, preferably in pediatrics, school nursing, or special needs care.
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Proof of required immunizations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct nursing assessments and evaluate student health conditions.
• Develop, implement, and manage individualized health care plans in compliance with IEPs and IDEA guidelines.
• Administer medications and perform specialized health procedures like catheterizations and enteral feedings.
• Train and supervise Unlicensed Authorized Personnel (UAP) for health-related tasks.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to address student health needs.
• Maintain accurate health records for compliance and Medicaid reimbursement.
• Organize and prepare medications for field trips and coordinate with school staff.
• Provide emergency response care, including First Aid, CPR/AED, and allergy management.
• Conduct health screenings and follow up on referrals.
• Train staff in emergency medication administration and response.
• Participate in IEP meetings and school wellness committees.
• Report communicable diseases to the Health Department and district officials.
• Maintain a clean and HIPAA-compliant health area.
• May be required for field trips or travel between schools.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting/moving up to a specified weight (e.g., 50 lbs).
