City of Centerville Police Department - Police Officer Recruitment
The Centerville Police Department is currently accepting applications for the full-time position of Police Officer. This recruitment aims to establish an eligibility list for future placements, valid for up to 12 months from the date of eligibility. The Centerville Police Department is a nationally accredited law enforcement agency with a tradition of service excellence. Position Responsibilities:

Conduct criminal investigations and apprehend offenders.
Enforce traffic laws and regulate traffic.
Perform preventive patrol duties.
Respond to and investigate criminal and civil complaints.
Make arrests and process detainees as required by law.
Prepare reports, affidavits, and maintain logs and records.
Manage and assist with emergency calls via radio or telephone.
Operate law enforcement equipment and maintain required certifications, including a valid Ohio driver's license, firearms proficiency, and an Ohio Peace Officer Training Certificate.
Work rotating shifts, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Education Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a closely related field, or
Certification through the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission (or out-of-state equivalent) with two years of experience as a peace officer, or
Four years of continuous military service with an honorable discharge, or
Two years of continuous military service with an honorable discharge and completion of at least 60 semester hours (associate's degree equivalent).
Minimum Qualifications:

At least 21 years of age by the completion of the academy.
Successful completion of the Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy or eligibility for admittance to an approved OPOTA-certified training academy.
Valid Ohio driver's license.
Lateral entry candidates are also encouraged to apply.

Salary and Benefits:

Salary range: $33.93 - $47.61 per hour, with an excellent benefits package, including:
