Job Description

The primary purpose of the Patient Care Technician (PCT) position is to provide patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse.

The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably at least one year of recent experience working in direct patient care. Must be able to work 3 x 12 hour days: 7am-7pm including rotating weekends and holidays.

Scope
Impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.

Essential Job Functions
Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs. Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs. Updates and retrieves patient information. Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner. Acts as part of an assigned care team.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Required: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience
Preferred: Experience in an acute care setting as a Nursing Assistant.

Licensure/Certification
Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).

Other
Required: Must pass pre-employment skills test as required and administered by Human Resources.
