Key Responsibilities:
Design and Manage Virtual Classrooms: Develop engaging and inclusive online learning environments tailored to the needs of special education students.
Deliver Tailored Instruction: Implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) using various virtual platforms to ensure each student's success.
Collaborate with Educational Teams: Work closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to coordinate comprehensive student support.
Assess and Monitor Progress: Conduct virtual assessments and consistently track student progress, adapting instruction as necessary.
Facilitate IEP Meetings: Lead online IEP meetings and parent conferences, fostering clear communication and partnership with families.
Maintain Digital Records: Keep detailed and organized digital documentation of student performance and interventions.
Develop Behavior Support Plans: Implement online strategies to support positive student behavior and engagement.
Stay Informed on Tech Trends: Continuously update your knowledge of educational technology to enhance teaching practices.
Required Qualifications:
Educational Background: Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Licensure: Valid Massachusetts teaching license with a Special Education endorsement.
Experience: At least two years of classroom teaching experience in special education.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using virtual learning platforms effectively.
Communication Skills: Strong digital communication abilities to engage with students, families, and colleagues.
IEP Expertise: Experience in developing and implementing individualized education plans.
Preferred Qualifications:
Remote Teaching Experience: Prior experience teaching in a virtual setting is a plus.
Assistive Technology Knowledge: Familiarity with tools that support students with special needs.
Bilingual Skills: Ability to communicate in multiple languages is highly valued.
Diverse Student Experience: Experience working with students from various backgrounds and learning needs.
Legal Knowledge: Understanding of state and federal special education laws and regulations.
