Position Overview
As a Remote Special Education Teacher, you will support students in grades K-12 by creating and delivering individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to their unique needs. This role involves collaborating with families, general education teachers, and other education professionals, all within a virtual setting, to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver specialized instruction through a virtual learning platform, ensuring all students receive the support they need.
Develop, implement, and regularly monitor IEPs for students with a range of learning needs.
Collaborate with general education teachers to integrate inclusive practices within the learning environment.
Maintain accurate records, ensuring up-to-date documentation of student progress and development.
Facilitate virtual meetings with parents, staff, and other stakeholders to discuss student progress and adjust learning plans as necessary.
Provide modifications and accommodations in accordance with student IEPs to foster an inclusive and supportive learning experience.
Participate in professional development opportunities to continue enhancing teaching strategies and techniques.
Utilize assistive technology and digital tools to engage students and support their learning.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
Valid teaching certification with a Special Education endorsement.
A minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a school-based setting.
Proficiency with virtual learning platforms and educational technology.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and colleagues.
Experience in developing and implementing IEPs to address students' diverse needs.
Ability to work independently while maintaining strong, collaborative relationships within a team.
