Job Description

Are you passionate about empowering students with diverse learning needs? We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic virtual learning team. This position will serve students in the Newark area, providing personalized, high-quality education in a fully remote setting.

Position Overview: As a Remote Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting students in grades K-12 with individualized learning plans. You'll create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), collaborating with students, families, and other education professionals to ensure the success of each student. This role offers the unique opportunity to work in an innovative virtual environment, making education accessible to all learners.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and deliver personalized, specialized instruction through our virtual learning platform to meet the diverse needs of students.
Create, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that reflect each student's unique learning needs.
Work closely with general education teachers to foster inclusive learning environments and support the integration of students with disabilities.
Maintain thorough and accurate records of student progress, ensuring that IEP goals are being met.
Conduct virtual meetings with parents, staff, and other relevant stakeholders to discuss student progress and collaborate on instructional strategies.
Provide necessary modifications and accommodations based on each student's IEP to support their academic success.
Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education.
Utilize assistive technology and other digital tools to enhance student learning experiences and outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
A valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Special Education.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in school-based teaching, with a focus on special education.
Proficiency in virtual learning platforms and educational technology.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
Experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
Ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative and team-oriented environment.
