Key Responsibilities:
Create and Manage Virtual Classrooms: Develop engaging online learning environments tailored to the needs of special education students.
Deliver Specialized Instruction: Provide individualized instruction through various virtual platforms, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
Collaborate with Educators: Work closely with general education teachers and support staff to align strategies and support student success.
Conduct Virtual Assessments: Implement and oversee assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods as needed.
Facilitate IEP Meetings: Lead online Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and maintain open communication with parents and guardians.
Maintain Comprehensive Records: Keep detailed digital records of student performance, IEP documentation, and communication logs.
Develop Behavior Support Plans: Design and implement effective online behavior management strategies.
Stay Updated: Continuously enhance your knowledge of educational technology and emerging best practices in special education.
Required Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Special Education or a related field.
A valid Massachusetts teaching license with a Special Education endorsement.
A minimum of 2 years of experience teaching in a special education setting.
Proficiency in using virtual learning platforms and tools.
Strong digital communication skills and the ability to engage students in an online environment.
Experience with developing and implementing IEPs.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience teaching in a remote setting.
Familiarity with assistive technology and its application in virtual learning.
Bilingual skills are a plus.
Experience working with diverse student populations.
Knowledge of Massachusetts state special education laws and regulations.
