Salary: 89,700 - 162,150 USD per year Requirements:

• I am looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of overall experience. Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
• At least 7 years of experience as a Mainframe Storage Engineer.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in problem monitoring and engineering problem resolutions on virtual tape architectures.
• 5 years of experience with Dell/EMC, VSM, VLE, and ZFS Virtual tape Libraries.
• 5 years of experience with IBM Job Control Language (JCL).
• 4 years of experience with the CA-1 Tape Management System (TMS) and CA Vantage.
• 4 years of experience supporting Disaster Recovery planning, testing, monitoring, and restoration for virtual tape storage systems.
• 3 years of experience designing and building Storage Management Systems (SMS).
• 2 years of experience using Data Domain Management Center (DDMC).
• 2 years of experience using Time Sharing Option (TSO) on mainframe systems.
• 2 years of experience with Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF).
• Expertise in the Linux command-line environment.

Responsibilities:

• As a Mainframe Storage Engineer, you will be responsible for:
• Managing and supporting the Agency’s Tape Management System, Virtual Tape Control System, and Data Storage resources.
• Providing support for disaster recovery exercises through vaulting operations, tape, and encryption processes.
• Monitoring the storage environment to ensure that storage workloads are performing as designed and planned, including management and documentation of the Storage Resource Management (SRM), Storage Performance Management, Control Software, and error reporting software.
• Designing, building/re-engineering, testing, deploying, and documenting both Storage Management Systems (SMS) and non-SMS system storage space for each sysplex.
• Assisting with DDMC deployment enhancements and exploration.
• Analyzing the operating posture of existing storage hardware and software.
• Using IBM’s Job Control Language (JCL), IBM’s dataset utilities, IBM’s Interactive System Productivity Facility (ISPF), and IBM’s Access Method Services (IDCAMS) tools to manage datasets.
• Offering after-hours change and data center swap support.
• Documenting processes, procedures, and configurations.
• Performing daily operations support functions, including problem isolation and resolution.
• Providing status updates on tasks and project progress and system administration support.
• Troubleshooting platform and application issues and fulfilling any other duties as assigned or directed.
