Job Description: Lead Electronic Security Technician

Position Overview: The Electronic Security Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic security systems, including access control systems, video surveillance, intrusion detection systems, and alarm systems. However, most of the current role will be performing preventative maintenance on Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) systems. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and an understanding of security protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preventative Maintenance:
    • Test electronic security systems according to industry standards and manufacturer specifications. Clean camera lenses. Verify cameras are focused.
  • Installation and Configuration:
    • When applicable - Install, configure, and test electronic security systems according to industry standards and manufacturer specifications.
  • Corrective Maintenance:
    • When applicable - Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on security systems to ensure optimal functionality.
    • Diagnose and repair faults in electronic security equipment.
  • System Upgrades:
    • Assist in the upgrading of existing security systems.
  • Customer Interaction:
    • Communicate with clients to assess their security needs
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and service requests.
    • Prepare and submit reports on system performance and maintenance activities.
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure all installations and repairs comply with federal regulations.
    • Stay updated on advancements in electronic security technology.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in electronic security or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Two years previous experience in electronic security installation and maintenance is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing electronic security systems. Knowledge of networking concepts and ability to configure IP-based security systems.
  • Certifications: CompTIA Security + Certificate. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCTV, access control) are a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
