Job Description
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Intervention Specialist to support students in an innovative, technology-driven learning environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to helping students succeed at their own pace, utilizing 21st-century technology to provide personalized educational support. You'll play a vital role in maintaining student records, collaborating with teachers and families, and ensuring students with special needs receive the best possible learning experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with student special needs records, including IEPs and ETRs.
Use technology to customize instructional resources based on students' unique needs, backgrounds, and learning styles.
Track and report progress on all IEP goals and objectives using specialized software and student information systems.
Lead the creation and revision of IEPs, participate in IEP/ETR meetings, and provide specialized instruction in accordance with individual student needs.
Design and implement engaging learning activities that support active student participation and meaningful learning experiences.
Evaluate and provide feedback on offline assignments, working closely with other faculty members as needed.
Maintain regular communication with students and their families to monitor attendance, participation, and academic progress.
Participate in the Credit Flex Committee and assist with testing preparation and on-site administration.
Develop and implement strategies to boost student engagement and motivation.
Provide targeted academic and social/emotional support for students in need, including referrals to appropriate resources.
Collaborate with staff and families to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Support state testing procedures and data analysis, ensuring that students are prepared for assessments.
Contribute to the development and execution of Response to Intervention (RTI) programming, and support general education teachers with RTI strategies.
Attend both online and in-person meetings, including events like graduation, and ensure the program's goals are being met.
Maintain regular communication within the organization's communication systems and perform any related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Education Requirements:
Current Ohio teaching license (K-12 Education of the Handicapped required; general education license is a plus).
Familiarity with the dynamics of an educational environment.
Understanding of individualized instruction, accommodations, and modifications to ensure student success in diverse learning environments.
Proficient in technology and able to work from home with high-speed Internet access.
Excellent multitasking skills and ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic setting.
Strong communication skills—able to work collaboratively with administration, staff, students, and families.
Commitment to continuous improvement, with a positive attitude toward constructive feedback.
Ability to work independently from a home office and regional locations when needed.
Respect for confidentiality and the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.
