The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is primarily responsible for driving sales growth through innovative machine tool solutions. Reporting directly to the Regional Sales Director, the ASM develops new customer relationships and maintains existing accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and business retention.
Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, serving as the primary point of contact for client needs.
Promote company products and deliver technical sales presentations and support.
Work closely with Applications Engineers to evaluate customer equipment requirements and recommend appropriate solutions.
Prepare, present, and respond effectively to customer proposals.
Advise customers on machinery improvements or upgrades to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Conduct regular visits (minimum 25 per week) to customer sites, addressing engineering or service-related challenges and strategically identifying sales opportunities.
Provide proactive support to resolve complex engineering issues directly at customer locations.
Prepare and submit weekly territory planning and MIS reports.
Submit timely expense reports adhering to company expense policies.
Participate in semiannual visits to OEM factories located in Japan, Germany, Italy, and China for training and strategic planning.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement sales strategies, achieving annual sales targets.
Coordinate closely with engineering teams to facilitate customer demonstrations.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution, or
Associate’s Degree from an accredited institution plus 5+ years of relevant B2B sales experience.
2-5 years of successful experience in B2B sales or business development.
Prior experience within the machine tool or manufacturing industry strongly preferred.
