About the Department

The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 500 student-athletes. The Bearcats have a proud athletics history, winning eight national championships and 117 conference titles. The Cincinnati men's basketball team is among the 15 winningest programs all-time, while the football team became the first American Athletic Conference program to compete in the College Football Playoff in 2021. Olympic gold medalist volleyball player Jordan Thompson, NBA Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson and Major League Baseball legend Sandy Koufax are among the several luminaries who have competed as Bearcats.

Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Athletic Intern, Ticket Sales to work in the Athletic Ticket Office. This is a term-limited, 12-month position eligible for a 12-month extension (2 years maximum) based on performance and evaluation. The position will report to the Associate AD, Sales & Service. 


This is an entry-level position for an individual interested in a career in ticket sales. Upon the conclusion of the term, you will have equipped yourself with the foundational knowledge, skills, networking and support necessary to pursue a full-time position. 


This is a 40 hours per week position (not benefit eligible), paid at an hourly rate. Some overtime may be needed. Evening and weekend hours may be required. 

Essential Functions

Perform various duties related to a specific department within Athletics, including:

  • Conduct outreach (calls/emails) to organizations, local businesses, and fans regarding ticket packages and hospitality (season tickets, mini plans, group, and premium).
  • Enter and track customer data in CRM system.
  • Manage the inbound line, providing customer service to fans, season ticket members, and donors.
  • Focus on theme day sales (group sales) via community outreach.
  • Assist Account Executives with any game day sales & services initiatives as needed.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned for a specified division or program of the Athletics Department.
  • The internship is an on-the-job training program designed to provide the individual with experience in a selected field and/or area of interest within intercollegiate athletics. 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Skill in the use of personal computer and related software applications.
  • Desire to pursue a career within intercollegiate athletics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use independent judgement and to manage and impart information.
  • Must maintain NCAA compliance while in this role.

Required Education

Bachelor's Degree.

Required Experience

  • Skilled in the use of personal computer and related software applications.
  • Desire to pursue a career within intercollegiate athletics.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to use independent judgement and to manage and impart information.
  • Must maintain NCAA compliance while in this role.
